The venue is next to the BP/M&S garage and is the building in the playing fields set back off the road.
Please take a moment to read through the information regarding this class:
If we don't answer your question here, please ask it below.
This class runs on Wednesdays from 1-2pm starting on 8th January 2020, we continue weekly, excluding some closures (dates to be confirmed nearer the time) for Easter, Christmas, New Year and Summer breaks (usually August) and occasional closures due to snow / other holidays
The class is taught as a 'follow me' format with clear verbal instructions and demonstrations. The teacher is Cherry Collins and occasionally Pat Bettridge. Both are qualified and insured instructors.
Suitable clothing is just your normal casual wear - trousers for ladies rather than skirts, and flat comfortable shoes.
No equipment or mats are required
All exercises are performed standing up
Both men and women attend our classes
The daytime classes mainly appeal to retired people aged 50-80 yrs but you can attend if you are younger or older than this
The exercise is slow, mindful and should be performed within your own comfort range
We don't offer a 'free trial' class nor do we allow people to watch because space is limited. This is not a 'pay when you come' class, in order to attend it is necessary to buy a 'beginners pack' of 3 consecutive classes to secure your place in the class. When the class is full there will not be any more 'beginners packs' available to buy from our webstore.
If you have a pre-existing health condition please note that we cannot offer you any advice on the suitability of the class for you, since we are not your doctor. Please check with your doctor regarding the type and level of exercise you can do and adapt the movements to suit your present health condition.
This class is not suitable for adults with special needs or learning disabilities / vulnerable adults, nor for children. This is because our instructor does not have the qualifications or insurance to cover these specific needs.
If you are a smoker we ask that you don't smoke in the car on the way to class, nor outside before coming in and that you wear smoke-free clothes to make it an uplifting experience for everyone. We have had to add this clause as several participants have mentioned that standing next to someone who smells of stale cigarettes for an hour is not an uplifting experience.
Payment for classes:
New joiners are required to register in advance and pay for their first three classes at a slightly discounted rate of £20 (usually £7 per class) in order to secure a place in the class. We will send you payment details after you submit this form. This fee is non-refundable should you change your mind or not attend for whatever reason. This is to prevent places being held for people who fail to attend after we have held a place for them.
If you'd like to attend the 1-2pm Wednesday new beginners class at the Mytchett Centre please complete the rest of this form - ALL fields must be completed in order to submit the form or else you will get an error message.
